Transitioning to Independence

Facilitated by foster parents Vicki Bridge and Dawna Drapeau

This workshop provides an educational opportunity for caregivers of teens, Resource Social Workers, and Guardianship Social Workers to exchange ideas, and develop specific planning strategies to prepare youth for their eventual transition to independence with the necessary skills.

The goal is to build a toolkit for caregivers based on Key Themes previously identified by caregivers. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.

Presented in partnership with Ministry of Children and Family Development, FPSS Foster Parent Support Services Society, Surrounded by Cedar Child and Family Services, Island Metis Services and numerous community social service agency.
