The Federation of BC Youth in Care Networks is hosting an event called YouthSpeak SCM for any youth in or from care aged 14 – 24 from across BC. Youth will be participating in fun activities and workshops through-out the weekend to get ready for our meeting on Monday with up to 40 decision makers and community leaders. On Monday youth, decision makers and community leaders will work together to come up with concrete action items to improve the system for youth in care across BC. This weekend will be planned and run by a group of youth leaders in partnership with Staff and expert facilitators.

When: Saturday June 4th at 3pm until Monday June 6th at 4pm
Where: Sandman Hotel City Centre, downtown Vancouver (next to Stadium Sky train)
Cost: Free for all young people 14 – 24. Food, hotel room, activities and travel all covered! If you are still in care we do ask that your worker try to find some funding to help cover costs. If your worker is unable to cover the costs they can apply for subsidy
Who: On Saturday and Sunday we hope to have around 30 young people from across BC aged 14 – 24 attend with some adult supports and Fed staff. On Monday we are inviting 40 decision makers and leaders from across BC to join us.
