Crime…Gangs…boys with no healthy mentors…are you concerned about this?
The Boys Club Network is a volunteer organization based out of Vancouver who provide support and mentorship to at risk boys. They have successfully helped young men avoid gang life and the criminal lifestyle. Their incredible free play, ‘Man Up’ (see attached poster), explains how they got started and the very real life experiences of several of the boys who have benefitted from this tremendous organization. ‘Man Up’ was presented at the 2015 Provincial Youth Justice Forum and was the highlight for most of the participants. ‘Man Up’ is in great demand, not only in B.C. but across Canada and internationally. They recently completed a very successful run in Courtenay/Comox area schools. The play is being performed at several Victoria area high schools with one public evening performance.
The Play is open to the public and free of charge. Due to graphic language, the play is not suitable for children. Anyone working with at risk boys should attend this moving play – you will not regret it.
